Hurricane Men’s Tennis Heads to ITA Southeast Regional

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – Automatic entries to the 2017 Oracle/ITA National Fall Championships will be on the line this week, as the University of Miami men’s tennis team takes part in the ITA Southeast Regional Presented by Oracle, beginning Friday at the Byers Tennis Complex on the campus of Georgia Tech University in Atlanta.

Champions from the singles and doubles main draw brackets from each of the 12 ITA Regional Championships will receive an automatic entry into the national event.

The Hurricanes are one of 16 schools that will compete in the singles and doubles tournament.

Miami will look to build off the momentum from its strong showing at the 2017 Bedford Cup at Florida State. The Hurricanes’ duo of senior Christian Langmo and junior Dane Dunlap highlighted competition for Miami, as they captured the Doubles A bracket crown, defeating freshman teammates Bojan Jankulovski and Adria Soriano-Berrera in the final.

Langmo also made an impact in the singles bracket at the Bedford Cup, as he advanced to the semifinal round. In 10 singles matches this fall, Langmo boasts a team-best 8-2 record.

Miami will feature four doubles teams and four singles competitors in the form of Dunlap, Soriano, Langmo and Jankulovski.
