Miami Men’s Tennis Concludes Play at ITA Regionals

ATLANTA – The University of Miami men’s tennis team wrapped up play Sunday evening at the ITA Southeast Champioship Presented By Oracle at the Byers Tennis Complex on the campus of Georgia Tech University.

Freshman Bojan Jankulovski opened the day on a high note for Miami, as he defeated Florida State’s Lucas Poullain in thrilling three-set fashion (7-5, 6-7 (5), 6-2) to advance to the third round where he faced against USF’s Grayson Goldin.

Goldin defeated Jankulovski in straight sets, but the Macedonia native would not go quietly, as he forced a tie-breaker in the second frame before falling 6-1, 7-6 (5).

Senior teammate Christian Langmo also saw action on Sunday, taking on Georgia’s Emil Reinberg. Reinberg defeated Langmo in straight sets (6-2, 6-4).

In the doubles main draw, Miami’s duo of Jankulovski and Adria Soriano were defeated 8-6 by Georgia’s tandem of Reinberg and Robert Loeb.

Competition on Sunday delayed for approximately two hours due to heavy rain in the area.

The Hurricanes were one of 16 schools that competed in the singles and doubles tournament.

Miami returns to action on Nov. 5 at the University of Alabama Invitational in Birmingham, Ala.
