WBB Announces Schedule Changes

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – As a result of September’s hurricanes, the University of Miami women’s basketball team has made multiple adjustments to its 2017-18 non-conference slate.

Miami will still travel to the Puerto Rico Classic in San Juan, but will play on different days at new times and have one altered opponent.

The Hurricanes were originally scheduled to play Sacramento State Dec. 19 and Western Michigan the next day, with both games set for 6 p.m. Instead, Miami will take on the Hornets Dec. 18 and then meet Kennesaw State Dec. 19. Both games will start at 4:30 p.m.

Since the Hurricanes are now facing Kennesaw State in Puerto Rico, they will no longer potentially face the Owls in the Miami Thanksgiving Tournament. That event will instead feature set matchups on Nov. 24 and 26.

On the first day of action at the Watsco Center, Kennesaw State plays Maryland at 2 p.m., and then Miami plays Maine at 4 p.m. These games remain the same as previously scheduled, with tipoff times now set.

Meanwhile, on the 26th, the Hurricanes meet the Terrapins at noon, followed by the Owls taking on the Black Bears at 2 p.m., in the finale. Maryland is currently ranked No. 15/13 nationally.
