Lomacki and Clark Begin Season in Nation's Top 50

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – University of Miami men’s tennis senior Piotr Lomacki has earned a No. 37 in the Oracle/ITA Division I National Preseason Singles Rankings.

Lomacki finds himself in the top 50 of the 125-player rankings after completing his junior spring season ranked No. 63 in the nation. The Poland native had a 12-9 singles record in the spring, earning five Atlantic Coast Conference victories in the process.

In addition, Lomacki finished the 2017 campaign with a 11-3 overall doubles record alongside classmate Nile Clark. The duo won its first seven matches of the  spring and went on to advance to the third round of the ACC Championship, earning a No. 47 ranking in the Oracle/ITA Division I National Preseason Doubles Rankings.

Lomacki will begin the 2017 fall season with the fifth-highest rank of the 11 ACC players among the top 50. He leads NC State’s Alexis Galarneau (43rd), Duke’s Spencer Furman (44th), Wake Forest’s Christian Seraphim (46th), Florida State’s Guy Iradukunda (47th), North Carolina’s Robert Kelly (48th) and FSU’s Lucas Poullain (50th).
Clark and Lomacki are one of 12 ACC doubles pairs to place in the top 50 of the rankings.

Miami’s fall season opener was delayed due to the cancellations of this week’s University of Florida Invitational and FGCU Invitational, but the Canes will finally hit the courts next week, when they compete in the ITA Men’s All-American Championships and the Rice Invitational.
