Entercom and Miami Baseball Announce Multi-Year Agreement

PHILADELPHIA, PA – Entercom, the unrivaled leader in sports radio, and the University of Miami today announced a multi-year agreement. The agreement includes broadcasting rights of Miami Hurricanes baseball and ancillary baseball programming on Entercom’s AM 790 The Ticket (WAXY-AM) beginning with the 2018 season. As part of the partnership, The Ticket will broadcast at least 15 regular season games, all postseason baseball and various Canes baseball-focused programs throughout the season. 
 
“We’re excited to begin a new partnership with Miami Athletics and are ready to air Canes baseball game broadcasts and various shows for fans this spring,” said Keriann Worley, Senior Vice President and Market Manager, Entercom South Florida. “There’s not a better time than right now to be associated with the University of Miami and as part of our commitment to our listeners, we are always looking to bring them the excitement of the games they love.” 

Included in the 790 The Ticket broadcast schedule are home games against Rutgers (Feb. 16, Feb. 18), Missouri (Feb. 21), Florida (Feb. 25), Maine (March 2, March 4), Notre Dame (March 9, March 11), Virginia (March 24) and North Carolina (April 7, April 8). Road games at FAU (Feb. 28) and FIU (March 7) will be carried live, and two other games TBA.

The station will produce and air live all broadcasts from the AM 790 The Ticket studios. Joe Zagacki, in his 29th season as the Voice of the Canes, will once again do the play-by-play for baseball broadcasts.
 
All broadcasts will also be streamed on TheTicketMiami.com as well as on Radio.com.  
 
All aspects of the renewal and relationship between Entercom’s AM 790 The Ticket and Miami Athletics is overseen by the university’s athletics multimedia rightsholder, Learfield’s Hurricane Sports Properties.
