Andrew Cates joined Miami soccer as director of operations in April of 2024. Cates assists the team in travel, budgeting, logistics, equipment and more.
Cates served as the director of basketball operations at Seton Hall University, managing team travel, meals, student managers and other logistics. He would also earn his bachelor’s degree at SHU, serving in similar capacities as a student. Cates jumped into the collegiate soccer game as a director of soccer operations at Kansas in 2022, working with the Jayhawks for two seasons.
The New Jersey native got his start in the sports world as a student manager for the girls’ basketball team at Moorestown Friends High School.
