CORAL GABLES, Fla. – Get to Know U is a series that introduces the newest members of the Miami Hurricanes track and field and cross country programs. 
 
This week we get to know Davonte Fuller, the freshman from South Carolina, and his experience at UM after his first few months on campus.

Q&A: 
 
Q: What about Miami stood out to you during the recruiting process? 
A: I loved the facilities and how everyone was like a family on the team.
 
Q: What is the main reason you chose to attend Miami? 
A:  I felt the University of Miami would benefit me in not only my athletics, but academics, too.
 
Q: What’s is your favorite thing about Miami?  
A: I really loved the weather.
 
Q: When you were practicing with the team, what were some of the differences you noticed compared to high school practice?
A:  Some of the differences I’ve noticed is that in high school, they don’t focus on mechanics and form as much as you do in college.
 
Q: What are your goals for this year?
A:I would like to compete in the ACC indoor and outdoor championships, as well as make it to Nationals.
 
Q: What has been the biggest adjustment in terms of training and in terms of campus/social life? 
A: The biggest adjustment has been being able to manage my time effectively.
 
Q: If you were not running cross country/track for the U, what sport would you play?
A: Definitely football. I played it in high school.
 
Q: What is your favorite food? What food do you not like at all? 
A: I love hot wings and I hate ice cream.
 
Q: What is your all-time favorite movie? TV show? 
A: My favorite movie is Menace to Society and my favorite TV show is The Office.
 
Q: What was your most embarrassing “freshman” moment?
A: My most embarrassing freshman moment was sitting in the wrong class for 30 minutes.
 
 Q: What do you think of dining hall food?
A:  The dining hall is way better than the food at my high school. 
 
Q: What do you think of your classes so far?
A: I love the classes I’m taking right now.
