Miami to Play in 2019 Charleston Classic

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The Charleston Classic announced on Thursday the eight-team field for its 2019 tournament, to be held Nov. 21, 22 and 24, at TD Arena in Charleston, S.C. Miami joins a field which includes UConn, Florida, Missouri State, Penn State, Saint Joseph’s, Towson and Xavier.
 
Four of the eight teams in the field made the 2018 postseason. Xavier (No. 1 seed), Miami (No. 6 seed) and Florida (No. 6 seed) all made the NCAA Tournament. Penn State played in the National Invitational Tournament.
 
Miami is a two-time Charleston champion, having won in 2009 and 2014. Previous winners include Temple (2017), Villanova (2016) and Virginia (2015).
 
This family-friendly tournament offers the teams a week of practice, play and experiences in and around historic Charleston.
