Piric Announces Fall Men's Tennis Schedule

Fall Schedule

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – University of Miami head men’s tennis coach Aljosa Piric revealed Friday the team’s schedule for the upcoming fall season, which features six collegiate tournaments.

“We have a good blend of fall events this season, and we are going to participate in several top tournaments,” Piric said. “We have a lot of new guys on our team and we have to see them compete and learn about their games. And most importantly the fall is going to serve as a learning tool for us as coaches to see where we currently stand as a team and what improvements we need to make.”

The Hurricanes fall season opens with the Crimson Tide Four-In-The-Fall tournament Sept. 14-16 in Tuscaloosa, Ala. The highly-competitive event includes Alabama, Memphis, Oklahoma, Princeton, Rice, Tennessee and Tulane.

The following weekend, Miami will compete in the South Carolina Fall Invitational Sept. 21-23 in Columbia, S.C.

To cap September and open October, Miami will have players at the Riviera/ITA Men’s All-American Championships. Pre-qualifying, qualifying and main draw action is scheduled from Sept. 29-Oct. 7 in Tulsa, Okla.

A group of Hurricanes will then hit the road and compete in the Bedford Cup Oct. 6-8 in Orlando, Fla.

Miami will close out the month of October in Athens, Ga., for the ITA Southeast Regional Championships, set for Oct. 17-22.

The last tournament of the fall for Miami is the Longhorn Invitational, which will take place Nov. 9-11 in Austin, Texas.
