Hurricanes Place Sixth at Mary Fossum Invitational

EAST LANSING, Mich. – The University of Miami women’s golf team concluded Sunday with a sixth-place finish at the 35th annual Mary Fossum Invitational, hosted at the par 72, 6,334-yard Forest Akers West Golf Course in East Lansing, Mich. Miami Shot 9-over-par 297 as a team in the final round and wrapped up the 54-hole tournament with a score of 882 ( 18).
 
Dewi Weber opened her senior campaign registering her 17th career top-10 finish, while carding 11 birdies over the two-day weekend. Overall, the Groningen, Netherlands, native placed fourth with a 4-under-par 212.
 
In the third round, sophomore Kristyna Frydlova and graduate student Claudia De Antionio both recorded a 3-over 75, while juniors Renate Grimstad and Macarena Aguilera both finished 4-over-par on the afternoon.
 
Over the 54-hole event, Frydlova concluded play tied-for-30th, carding 8-over with eight birdies, while Aguilera registered three birdies and an eagle to finish tied-for-37th. In her first completion as a member of the Hurricanes. De Antonio wrapped up the tournament as Miami’s fourth scorer, hitting 11-over 227. Grimstad closed out the tournament 13-over, tied-for-52nd.
