Men's Tennis set to host a Doubleheader Friday

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The University of Miami men’s tennis team will open the 2019 dual season when it faces Stetson and Liberty Friday for a doubleheader at the Neil Schiff Tennis Center.
 
Miami takes on the Hatters at 11 a.m. before meeting the Flames at 4 p.m.

The Hurricanes are 3-0 all-time against Stetson, with the Hurricanes tallying a 6-1 home triumph in the most recent meeting on Feb. 19, 2010.
 
Friday’s match will mark just the second meeting between the Canes and Flames, with Miami claiming the lone meeting between the two programs on Feb. 7, 2015, 4-2.
 
The Hurricanes, led by third-year head coach Aljosa Piric, feature a trio of nationally-ranked singles players in sophomores Adria Soriano Barrera at No. 21 and Bojan Jankulovski at No. 35, while freshman Francisco Bastias cracks the top 100 at No. 97.
 
Stetson, currently 1-0 under the direction of fourth-year head coach Christophe Noblet in 2019, opened its season Wednesday with a 6-1 triumph over Morgan State.
 
Meanwhile, Liberty will jumpstart its 2019 campaign against the Hurricanes under second-year head coach Derek Schwandt. The Flames boast the nation’s No. 53 doubles tandem in Josh Wilson and Eddie Gutierrez.
 
Following its meetings with the Hatters and Flames, Miami will welcome Florida Atlantic to the Neil Schiff Tennis Center on Monday at 11 a.m. The match is set to be broadcast on ACC Network Extra.
 
The University of Miami – Coral Gables Campus has introduced an updated parking policy for the 2018-19 school year. Enforcement is now extended to seven days a week, 8 a.m. to just 11 p.m. PayByPhone and additional pay stations are available across all campus parking lots and garages to facilitate visitor parking.
