CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The University of Miami men’s basketball team plays host to Clemson at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Watsco Center. ESPN2 has the television broadcast.
The broadcast also streams online via the WatchESPN app. The Canes’ radio broadcast airs on WQAM 560-AM and also streams on HurricaneSports.com, Radio.com and the TuneIn app.

• Miami is the only team among basketball’s six power conferences with five players averaging at least 11 ppg apiece.
• Of Miami’s first 11 ACC games, nine of the foes are currently ranked or were ranked at the time (next four are not ranked).

• Chris Lykes is ninth in the ACC in overall scoring (16.9) and in conference play (17.3 ppg).

Miami (10-13, 2-9 ACC) took No. 8 North Carolina to overtime Saturday, but the Tar Heels outlasted the Hurricanes, 88-85, in Chapel Hill. Chris Lykes had a monster game for UM with 27 points, including 19 after halftime. Coby White scored 33 points, including seven 3-pointers, while Luke Maye added 20 points for UNC. Maye hit a 3-pointer with 12 seconds left in regulation to even the score at 77 and send the game to overtime. Miami was just the third to team to out-rebound North Carolina this season (39-32); UNC entered the game with the nation’s second-largest rebounding margin per game.
Lykes leads the Hurricanes in scoring at 16.9 ppg, which ranks ninth in the ACC. Johnson (13.1), Lawrence II (11.9), Dejan Vasiljevic (11.1) and Ebuka Izundu (11.0) each are averaging in double figures this season. As a team the Canes are scoring 73.1 ppg this year and giving up 70.9 ppg.
Clemson (15-8, 5-5) comes to town with four straight wins, including a 59-51 home triumph over then-No. 11 Virginia Tech on Saturday. During that four-game stretch, Clemson has surrendered just 49.8 ppg. The veteran-laden Tigers feature four senior starters, three of whom are fifth-year seniors, including Marcquise Reed, who leads the team and ranks fourth in the ACC in scoring at 18.9 ppg. As a team, Clemson is scoring 70.4 ppg and limiting its opponents to just 64.0 ppg.
Clemson leads the series with Miami, 14-11, although the Hurricanes hold a 10-9 advantage since joining the ACC for the 2004-05 season. Under Jim Larrañaga, Miami has won five of eight games against Clemson, including four straight home contests. He is 11-7 career against Brad Brownell-coached teams while at George Mason and Miami.
Clemson earned a 72-63 win on Jan. 13, 2018, at Littlejohn Coliseum in the teams’ last meeting. The Tigers’ last win in Coral Gables came on Feb. 20, 2011 (63-59).
The Canes head to Chestnut Hill, Mass., on Sunday for a 6 p.m. ACC matchup with Boston College. ESPNU has the television broadcast. Miami returns home next Saturday (Feb. 23) for a 2 p.m. game with Georgia Tech.
