In a series that dates back to 1936, Miami holds a 16-7 advantage over NC State. Last season, the Hurricanes and Wolfpack split a pair of contests, with Miami defeating then-No. 23 NC State, 4-3, at the Neil Schiff Tennis Center during the regular season, while the Pack topped the Canes, 4-1, in the first round of the 2018 ACC Championship.

In last weekend’s final home matches of the regular season, the Hurricanes split a pair of contests against top-50 conference foes, opening with a 4-3 triumph over then-No. 43 Virginia Tech on Friday. Two days later, Miami came up short against fifth-ranked Virginia, 4-0.

With its 7-3 conference mark, Miami has already locked up a top-five seed in the ACC Championship for the first time since 2011. As aforementioned, the Hurricanes would clinch a top-four seed in the tournament with a win over the Wolfpack.

Miami is led by a pair of sophomores featured on the national singles list, with Adria Soriano Barrera coming in at No. 55 and Bojan Jankulovski ranked No. 81.

Under the direction of second-year head coach Kyle Spencer, NC State enters the contest riding a two-match winning streak, including a 4-1 road victory over No. 49 Duke on Wednesday.

The Wolfpack is represented by Alexis Galarneau in the Oracle/ITA singles rankings, as the junior is listed at No. 23. In doubles, Galarneau pairs up with Michael Ogden to form the nation’s 44th-ranked tandem.

Following the match, the Hurricanes will take a day off before battling the defending national champion, fourth-ranked Wake Forest, in Winston-Salem, N.C., Sunday at 1 p.m.
