Miami Track Returns to Gainesville for Tom Jones Memorial

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Miami track and field program is set to compete at the Tom Jones Memorial meet this weekend for its final regular season meet of the outdoor season.
 
Saturday’s action will be streamed live on SEC Network +, via Watch ESPN. Live results for the event can be found HERE.
 
The two-day meet will feature a handful of local Florida universities and four ACC foes in Florida State, North Carolina, NC State and Syracuse. Miami’s women, ranked No. 14 in the latest USTFCCCA rankings, will showcase a numerous amount of highly-ranked individuals in their signature events, including both the reigning ACC Women’s Outdoor Track MVP Symone Mason and ACC Women’s Outdoor Field MVP Michelle Atherley.
 
The men’s team, who are coming off top-notch performances on their home track, will have 14 student-athletes compete, including Miami’s record-holding 4×400 relay team in McKinly Brown, Tyrees Moulton, Thomas Burns and Davonte Fuller.
 
Friday’s competition will begin at 3 p.m. with the men’s high jump, men’s pole vault, women’s discus throw and men’s hammer throw. The final event is set for 9:05 p.m. with the men’s 5,000m run. The Canes will return to Percy Beard Track at James G. Pressly Stadium on Saturday morning at 10 a.m., for the women’s hammer throw and will close out with the men’s 4x400m relay at 4:50 p.m.
 
Tom Jones Memorial will feature three other nationally-ranked women’s team in Florida State (No. 6), North Carolina A&T (No. 16) and Tennessee (No. 17).
