Piric Adds a Pair to the UM Tennis Program

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – University of Miami head men’s tennis coach Aljosa Piric announced Tuesday the signing of two staff members, Niclas Genovese and Christopher Hilton, to the 2019-20 roster.
 
A three-time ACC Academic Honor Roll winner and four-year varsity letter winner at UM, Genovese returns under the direction of Piric as a volunteer assistant coach.
 
Following his playing career, Genovese spent the summer of 2018 as an Assistant to Managing Director at Lothlorien Properties before returning to Miami to earn a bachelor of business administration degree in finance and entrepreneurship.
 
The Zug, Switzerland, native recently enrolled in a UM master’s program and is currently pursuing a finance degree.
 
A first-year student at Miami, Hilton joins Piric’s coaching staff as a student manager. Enrolled in the UM Business School, the Darien, Conn., native graduated with Magna Cum Laude status and a member of the National Honor Society at the Fairfield College Preparatory School.
 
A team-captain for his high school varsity tennis team, Hilton led and organized daily team practices, served as an advisor and provided guidance to the head coach about match lineups and was selected to the 2019 All-SCC (Southern Connecticut Conference) Team.
 
The Hurricanes are set to begin fall competition Sept. 20, with one set of Hurricanes competing at the South Carolina Invitational in Columbia, S.C., and another group participating in the Farnsworth Ivy-Plus, hosted by Princeton University.
